I was taken by how tight the bud was in the center of this rose as the outer petals slowly began to unfold around it. I also loved the delicate peach tones of the rose itself. I thought this flower was perfect in a square format, something I don't often do.
 
This original one of a kind pastel painting ships mounted on foamcore and is wrapped in tracing paper to protect the pastel drawing.

The Peace Rose has always been one of my favorite roses. I love the variations in color as the bud opens  from pinks on the outside to the yellows and creams inside as the the buds open. I like to meditate on peace as I enter the image and get lost in its many layers.

It arrives with a pre-cut white mat and self-adhesive spacers to mount on the back of the mat to keep it raised slightly from the painting surface itself, one technique recommended when framing a pastel (instructions are included). The matted painting will fit in a standard 20" x 16" frame to make it easy to frame. (Frame is not provided.)
