The Goldilocks Collection
I call this the Goldilocks Collection because it includes paintings that range from small to medium to large. The paintings are priced accordingly in the hope that you will fall in love with a painting that is just the right fit for you.
Some of these are the largest paintings I've ever created. It was an exciting challenge for me to go from working on small pieces that fit easily on my tabletop easel to needing to continually step back across the room as I worked to be able to see how these large paintings would look when hanging on a wall.
I'm excited to share all of these with you and hope you find something that speaks directly to your heart. Throughout my life, artwork has played a major role in helping me create a warm and peaceful atmosphere where I come to recharge my spirit. I like to think that by creating these images I am sending positivity out into the world and that my art will bring peace and beauty into your home as well.

I first became entranced by the vast array and incredible variety of succulent plants when I lived on the West Coast in Southern California. The climate and sandy soil is perfect for them and I was amazed by their range of colors, sizes and shapes. I love trying to capture light and I was so taken by the beauty of this perfect peach as the light caught the edge of the bowl that cradled it. I find my eyes almost caressing the objects in this painting as I follow the curves and, in doing so, I slow down and enter into a moment of calm. I often think of paintings as a kind of visual meditation — a way of being more present in the moment.

I have always loved sunflowers. There is just something so cheerful about them. And they have a delightful audaciousness when they tower over the other plants in the garden. Lucky for me we had a wonderful crop this year and I was able to take lots of photos to use as inspiration for future paintings. Recently, of course, sunflowers took on new meaning as they came to be a symbol of the indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people fighting for their country and Democracy.

This was a fun painting to do because I don't often paint interior scenes and I challenged myself to paint it as a 5"x7", even with all the detail. This flower was blooming in the garden on the day my oldest daughter was married, so it holds a special place in my heart. Daylilies only bloom for a day, so they serve as a reminder to seize the moment. We should celebrate those moments of beauty and joy we come across regardless of how brief they may be. When I see a red hibiscus I always want to pick it and put it behind my ear. That’s what I did when I first discovered them on a trip to Hawaii when I was in my early thirties. I have always loved violas and pansies. All pansies are actually violas but not all violas are pansies, something I didn’t learn until recently. This one was growing in the planter outside my studio window and I was drawn to the beautiful shading of blue on the outside to the yellow of its center. Our garden had a lot of sunflowers this year and they really pulled me toward them when I went outside. As I got close to this one, I noticed a bee that had also been drawn in close. Sunflowers just might be one of the happiest looking flowers in the garden.

We had a Cecile Brunner rose bush in our front yard when I was growing up. Those tiny rosebuds have such a heavenly scent and they've always seemed very nostalgic and romantic to me. I’ve been impressed by showy Phalaenopsis plants (also known as moth orchids) for years. I was delighted when I discovered how easy it is to grow them. They come in an amazing variety of colors and sizes and can be quite affordable, especially when you realize the blooms can last several months. Mystic’s Rose and Agapanthus

This pale pink rose was from a bush I planted in my backyard when I lived in Windsor, California. It ended up growing about 7’ tall (it was a freestanding bush, not a climber!) and for about nine months a year it produced huge, lush, intoxicatingly fragrant flowers. I loved how it looked next to the agapanthus in that garden.

This painting started it all — The Flower Collection. This vase, from a dear friend, sat in my kitchen window with these daffodils and I was struck by how the light from outside illuminated both the vase and the blooms. I accidentally moved the camera as I got ready to take a photo of them and I loved the play of light and movement I captured. As I got into the painting, and really started layering in color, it ignited something in me that made me want to keep going and paint more flowers.
